Landscaping

Gardens designed for the summer, not just for the photograph.

A garden in Abu Dhabi succeeds or fails on two things: irrigation design and plant selection. Ebhar builds gardens that survive the summer rather than gardens that photograph well in March, and maintains them afterwards under the same contract.

How We Work

  1. 01

    Site assessment

We assess sun exposure, soil condition, drainage and existing irrigation before proposing a layout.

  2. 02

    Design and plant schedule

You receive a layout and a plant schedule chosen for local heat and water tolerance, with expected maintenance stated honestly.

  3. 03

    Build

Hardscape, irrigation and lighting are installed first, then soil preparation and planting.

  4. 04

    Establish and maintain

We monitor the garden through its establishment period, and can continue under a maintenance contract thereafter.

Frequently Asked Questions

What survives an Abu Dhabi summer?

Considerably more than people expect, provided irrigation is correctly designed and zoned. We favour species proven in this climate and group plants by water requirement so that one zone is not drowning while another is starving.

Natural turf or artificial grass?

Natural turf looks and feels better but needs continuous irrigation, feeding and mowing. Artificial grass suits shaded courtyards, roof terraces and low-use areas. We will tell you honestly which suits your site and how much upkeep each will actually cost you.

Do you maintain gardens after building them?

Yes. Grounds maintenance — irrigation checks, pruning, feeding and seasonal planting — can be added to an Annual Maintenance Contract alongside the villa itself.
